Survey Data
from September through October 2025
Localized Climate Action Initiative
Summary
Total Respondents:
40 Organizations / 7 Municipalities / 7 Committees / 12 Passionate Individuals
Of the 40 Organizations that responded:
Staffing seems low. Even though 90% are 2+ years old (and 62.5% are 5+ years old), only 42.5% have 6 or more staff (paid and unpaid).
Almost all focus on engaging residents. 90% list Residents as part of their audience.
Heavier focus on Mitigation versus Adaptation. 67.5% focus includes Mitigation whereas only 37.5% focus includes Adaptation (with 30% stating Neither).
Strong local focus. 75% include their local Town/City in their geographical reach with 45% exclusively focused on their local Town/City.
Strong Energy focus, weaker Food and Economics focus. 75% (30 out of 40) state Energy as a focus area whereas only 35% (14 out of 40) state Food and 27.5% (11 out of 40) state Economics.
Lack of Staffing, Funding, and low Community Engagement top the list of Barriers to achieving their Mission/Goals.
At this time we don’t have enough Municipal responses to provide meaningful data. Please forward this survey to your Municipal friends and others in the climate action field.
Keep sharing the survey! More data will map local organizations and refine how best to promote resource sharing and collaboration.
